South Korea has established new regulations for fair and transparent recruitment of non-civil servants in central administrative agencies.
The policy mandates oversight committees, stricter hiring checks, and victim remedies for recruitment irregularities.
The regulations were enacted on June 6 and will be implemented from July 5, 2024.
The Korea Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission is holding workshops for the 2026 comprehensive integrity evaluation of public institutions.
The evaluation scope has expanded to include public medical institutions and local corporations, with tailored indicators for each type.
Workshops are scheduled for March 10 and 12, 2026, with final evaluation results to be announced in December.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of Korea conducted corruption impact assessments on 1,357 laws in 2023.
Recommendations for improvement were made for 247 corruption risk factors across 122 laws, focusing on transparency and fairness.
The evaluation covered central administrative agencies and will continue to target laws affecting citizens’ rights and daily life.
