Vice Minister Kim Jin-ah attended the Pax Silica Summit in Washington, D.C., to discuss cooperation on technology supply chains crucial for realizing the AI economy.
Countries including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, the UK, Australia, the UAE, and Israel participated in the summit, exploring collaboration in advanced manufacturing, AI infrastructure, and critical minerals.
The participating nations adopted the Pax Silica Declaration and agreed to form working groups to continuously identify specific cooperation projects.

A government delegation led by former Speaker Kim Jin-pyo attended the International Year of Peace and Trust Forum in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The forum was held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s recognition of permanent neutrality, with representatives from various countries and international organizations in attendance.
Kim Jin-pyo met with Turkmenistan’s supreme leader to discuss cooperation measures between the two countries.

The Broadcasting Media Commission will enhance its response to fake information and online illegal activities to create a safe broadcasting and media environment.
It plans to minimize social harm caused by online fake information through legal and institutional improvements, strengthening public-private cooperation, and user education.
Additionally, various measures such as establishing a transparency center, promoting fact-checking, and preventing illegal spam will be implemented to create a safe digital usage environment.

The Ministry of Science and ICT aims to develop an independent AI foundation model that ranks within the top 10 globally by next year.
The ministry also plans to promote various strategic technologies, including AI Co-Scientist and the K-Moonshot project.
This initiative aims to position South Korea as one of the top three AI powerhouses and a leading nation in science and technology.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Busan Metropolitan City announced the selection of 7,318 households in Hwamyeong, Geumgok, and Haeundae districts for urban renewal.
This is the first case of urban renewal in local areas following the selection of 37,000 households in five first-phase new towns last year.
The Ministry plans to establish the Busan Future City Support Center next year and actively support the project approval process.

Korea and China have signed an MOU to strengthen service trade cooperation and will discuss ways to expand trade.
The two countries will hold a joint committee on the Korea-China FTA to seek ways to enhance FTA implementation and continue communication for the smooth introduction of key supply chain items such as rare earth elements.
They also discussed cooperation to revitalize local economies, ways to activate investment cooperation, and communication measures regarding trade remedy actions.
