[2025-12-17]Ministry of SMEs and Startups Revises Startup Recognition Law

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has approved a revision to the law to recognize companies that have resolved exclusion reasons as startups.
According to the revision, companies that resolve exclusion reasons within seven years from the start date will be recognized as startups.
The revised enforcement ordinance will take effect on January 1, 2026, and will apply to companies that resolve exclusion reasons before the implementation date.

The Small and Medium Business Administration hosted the TOPS AWARDS at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, presided over by Vice Minister Lee Byung-kwon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with KIEP, held the 9th Korea-US Joint Economic Forum in Seoul.
Vice Minister Kim Jin-ah evaluated the strengthened cooperation between Korea and the US and proposed focusing on shipbuilding, semiconductors, and energy sectors.
Approximately 150 attendees expressed high interest in cooperation in strategic industries between Korea and the US.
