This initial batch includes 8,160 NVIDIA B200 and 2,296 H200 GPUs, part of the goal to secure over 52,000 GPUs by 2028.
The government aims to fairly and efficiently allocate GPU resources to strengthen the national AI ecosystem and competitiveness.

The South Korean government has established a 20 billion won Citizen Safety Industry Fund to support early-stage companies in disaster safety and security sectors.
The fund is composed of 10 billion won from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, 10 billion won from the National Police Agency, and additional contributions from private and local governments.
Investments will focus on companies with advanced technologies such as AI and robotics, with investments set to begin in the second half of 2026.

The Ministry of National Defense held a task force meeting on the 18th to review various issues related to nuclear-powered submarine construction.
Ten agencies including the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated at the director-general level.
The ministry plans to continuously review related matters with relevant agencies and develop the task force into a systematic inter-agency body.

South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held talks with UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology to discuss cooperation in AI data centers and oil stockpiling.
The ‘Stargate UAE’ project aims to build a 5GW AI computing cluster, with a 200MW cluster scheduled to begin operations next year.
Both sides agreed to expand the existing oil stockpiling collaboration and continue cooperation in upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

The government announced the ‘Hyper AI Network Strategy’ to build an AI superhighway through 6G commercialization, AI base station expansion, and submarine cable reinforcement.
It plans to enhance intelligence and performance across all national network sectors including mobile, wired, satellite, and submarine communications by 2030.
The strategy also includes industrial competitiveness measures such as technology development, demand creation, and institutional improvements for 6G and AI network industries.
