[2026-03-11]South Korea Sets 2024 Target for Korean War Remains Recovery and International Cooperation
South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense is intensifying efforts to recover Korean War remains in 2024.
The target is set at 200 remains, a 42% increase from last year, with expanded DNA collection and international collaboration.
Excavations began in March and will continue through November, involving 31 military units and global partners.
