[2026-04-13]Expanded Penalties for Public Institutions in Korea Over Personal Data Breaches
The Personal Information Protection Commission has finalized the 2026 evaluation plan for public institution data protection.
Penalties for data breaches and inadequate responses are significantly increased to enhance accountability.
The new measures begin in September 2024, with results announced in April 2027.
