The Ministry of Defense has appointed Jeong Bit-na as the new spokesperson effective December 15, 2025.
Jeong joined Yonhap News in 2011 and has extensive experience as a reporter, including covering defense policies and military affairs.
He is expected to effectively communicate defense policies to the public and actively engage with citizens.
The Ministry of Defense held a joint enshrinement ceremony for 141 Korean War remains at the Seoul National Cemetery on December 15, presided over by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok.
The ceremony was attended by key figures including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and included reports on excavation progress, religious rituals, and floral tributes.
