Mrs. Kim Hye-kyung hosted a kimchi-making event with foreign ambassadors’ spouses at the Korean cultural space ‘Ieum’ in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The event aimed to promote the kimchi-making culture, listed as an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, amidst the global K-food wave. Participants experienced traditional Korean food culture through the kimchi-making and tasting sessions.
South Korea has been confirmed to host the 4th UN Ocean Conference in June 2028. The UN Ocean Conference, which aims at the conservation and sustainable use of ocean resources, involves 193 member states. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to cooperate with the UN DESA for a successful conference.
Prime Minister Kim Min-seok presided over a meeting to review the protection of overseas citizens. The meeting evaluated risks in various regions and protection measures for Korean nationals abroad. Ministries such as the Foreign Ministry and Police Agency were urged to maintain close coordination.
