The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency hosted an evaluation meeting on the surveillance of infectious disease vectors and Vibrio bacteria in Busan. The meeting shared results from mosquito collections at airports and ports, and Vibrio bacteria surveillance in marine environments. This year’s surveillance extended the monitoring period and collection points, finding no pathogens in mosquitoes but isolating Vibrio bacteria pathogens at a rate of 25.5%.
Gwang-Seok Lee, Director of International Policy at the Ministry of Defense, protested to the Chinese and Russian defense attachés in response to the entry of Chinese and Russian military aircraft into the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ).
