The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Busan Metropolitan City announced the selection of 7,318 households in Hwamyeong-Gumgok and Haeundae districts for urban renewal.
This is the first case of urban renewal in local areas following the selection of 37,000 households in five first-phase new towns last year.
The Ministry plans to establish the Busan Future City Support Center next year and actively support the designation of special maintenance zones and other project procedures.

Korea and China have signed an MOU to strengthen service trade cooperation and will discuss ways to expand trade.

They also discussed cooperation for revitalizing local economies, measures to activate investment cooperation, and communication plans regarding trade remedy measures.

Additionally, the ministry will announce a second relocation plan for public institutions and expand local transportation infrastructure such as roads, railways, and airports.
The ministry aims to strengthen housing welfare and support the construction industry’s leap forward through various policies.

The Ministry of Education announced that it will expand free education and childcare support to include four-year-olds starting next year and improve the teacher-child ratio for infants.

Various measures will be implemented to address regional extinction crises through tailored educational innovations and to enhance students’ capabilities to respond to climate crises.

In 2024, the number of newlywed couples decreased by 2.3% to 952,000.
Among first-time newlyweds, the proportion with children dropped to 51.2%, while the dual-income rate rose to 59.7%.
The main type of residence for first-time newlyweds was apartments (77.0%), up by 2.5% from the previous year.
