The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy selected Chungbuk’s secondary battery specialized complex and Busan’s power semiconductor specialized complex as this year’s excellent complexes at the 2025 Specialized Complex Integrated Performance Sharing Conference.
Chungbuk attracted a total of 5 trillion won in private investment based on LG Energy Solution’s large-scale investment, while Busan successfully established the SiC power semiconductor ecosystem.
Noh Sung-hwa, Director of Industrial Supply Chain Policy at the Ministry, emphasized the continuous strengthening of capabilities as the specialized complexes evolved into innovative clusters in 2025.

Saemangeum Development Agency held a briefing session on the secondary battery brine wastewater treatment technology development project.
The project is promoted by the Ministry of Climate Energy Environment and will invest a total of 37 billion KRW from 2026 to 2030.
Saemangeum Development Agency plans to support the efficient consortium by establishing cooperation systems between research institutions and companies.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) announced its 2026 work plan, focusing on preparing for new infectious disease disasters, protecting the healthy daily lives of citizens, and proactively responding to future changes such as climate change.
In 2025, KDCA was recognized as having the world’s highest level of national health security capabilities by the WHO Joint External Evaluation and developed and commercialized the world’s first recombinant protein anthrax vaccine.
In 2026, KDCA plans to implement 10 key initiatives, including enhancing the infectious disease crisis response system, localizing infectious disease vaccines and treatments, and diversifying infectious disease diagnostic infrastructure.
