[2025-12-17]Ministry to Foster K-Culture and Achieve 30 Million Tourists

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to promote ‘K-Culture’ as a future core growth industry under the vision ‘K-Culture, enjoyed by all citizens and embraced by the world.’ The ministry reported its major work plans for next year with this vision at the Government Sejong Convention Center on the 16th.

Next year, the ministry will focus on nurturing ‘K-Culture’ as a future core growth industry, establishing a solid foundation for a cultural powerhouse, achieving the early goal of 30 million ‘K-Tourism’ visitors, and creating a trusted sports environment. To achieve this, they will develop tailored strategies for the cultural creation industries such as film, games, and popular music, and implement various policies to grow the sales and export scale of the content industry.

In the K-pop sector, the ministry will support the improvement of performance facilities in multipurpose sports facilities and build a 50,000-seat dome stadium to establish a foundation befitting K-pop’s global status. Additionally, they will expand the scale of creative musicals and attract overseas investments, and develop collaborative products with other fields utilizing traditional values such as Hanbok, Hangeul, and Hanji.

The ministry will also expand growth strategies for industries such as food, beauty, and fashion under the ‘K-Culture’ industry and significantly strengthen export support for overseas cultural bases such as the Korean Cultural Center. Furthermore, they plan to expand Sejong Institutes and establish an AI-based customized learning system ‘i-Sejong Institute’ for trial operation starting next year.
