Starting next year, the tax exemption limit for childbirth and childcare expenses will be expanded from 200,000 KRW per month to 200,000 KRW per child per month, and the cost of extracurricular activities for children under the second grade of elementary school or under 9 years old will be included in the education tax credit. Additionally, liquid-type electronic cigarettes will be regulated as tobacco, and regional doctor systems will be introduced.
The Ministry of Government Legislation announced on the 17th that it had approved 35 legislative bills passed by the National Assembly at the Cabinet meeting on the 16th. Of the 35 approved bills, 16 are budget-related bills, and the remaining 19 are general legislative amendments. The Income Tax Act has strengthened tax support for childbirth and childcare, and the Corporate Tax Act has increased corporate tax rates by 1%p each.
The Restriction of Special Taxation Act includes provisions for separate taxation of dividend income, and spouses with different addresses from the head of the household can also receive monthly rent tax credits. The revised Tobacco Business Act includes liquid-type electronic cigarettes as tobacco for regulation, and medical-related laws introduce a regional doctor system to address the imbalance in medical personnel supply.
Legal grounds for telemedicine have also been established and will be implemented from December next year. Telemedicine will primarily be conducted at clinic-level medical institutions and will target patients with records of face-to-face treatment for the same symptoms within a certain period.
