On the 10th, the Public Procurement Service (PPS) visited Hiho Metal Co., Ltd (CEO Seo Il-soo), a company utilizing stockpiled aluminum located in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, to inspect the manufacturing site and listen to the voices of the field. This visit was organized to hear the difficulties faced by aluminum manufacturing companies amidst challenging domestic and international conditions, such as the recent global aluminum price increase and currency fluctuations.
Hiho Metal Co., Ltd processes aluminum ingots into aluminum alloys and billets and is a manufacturer specializing in aluminum smelting, refining, and alloy production. It exports overseas to the United States, Europe, Japan, and Central and South America and has been designated as an innovation and export company using PPS stockpiles since 2023. Companies designated as PPS stockpile users receive benefits such as tripled purchase limits for three years and preferential interest rate reductions when buying on credit or leasing.
