Prime Minister Kim Min-seok presided over the 7th National Policy Coordination Meeting on December 10 at the Government Complex Seoul. The meeting discussed issues such as AI-driven false and exaggerated advertising, large-scale personal data breaches, trends in winter respiratory diseases, and preparation status for the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

PM Kim is focusing on creating measures to mitigate the side effects caused by new digital technologies like AI. A joint government-private investigation team has been formed to thoroughly investigate the Coupang customer information leak and implement preventive measures.

The government is checking trends in winter respiratory diseases to prevent large-scale outbreaks through early response. There are plans to conduct national vaccinations for high-risk groups and strengthen promotional activities regarding preventative measures in schools and daycare centers to block community transmission.

Preparation status for the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee planned to be held in Busan was also checked. The aim is to confirm the status as a cultural powerhouse through successful organization of the international conference, support participation of developing countries, and meticulously prepare for the inscription of Korea’s mudflats on the World Heritage list.
