[2025-12-14]Heavy Snow Expected in Central Inland Areas from December 13-14

The Rural Development Administration has issued guidelines for managing crops and agricultural facilities in anticipation of nationwide rain or snow this weekend, with heavy snowfall expected in the central inland regions from the afternoon of the 13th.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration’s short-term forecast, heavy snow is expected along the east coast on the 12th, and continuous snowfall of 1-3 cm per hour is expected in Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Chungbuk from the afternoon of the 13th. In preparation, it is advised to remove shading screens and orchard nets from greenhouses and ginseng shading facilities and to check the overall stability of external structures.

Farmers with heating facilities should operate heaters during snowfall to melt the snow accumulating on roofs. Additionally, snow removal equipment such as blowers and shovels should be used to prevent damage from snow accumulation. Safety precautions must be followed when performing snow removal on roofs.

The Rural Development Administration is working with local agricultural technology centers to monitor and mitigate winter natural disaster damage, focusing on areas prone to frequent damage. They are also continuously providing guidelines for responding to heavy snow and cold waves. In areas affected by this weather, on-site technical support teams will be deployed to minimize secondary damage.
