The Ministry of Education and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology announced the operation plan for the 2026 Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp. The National Institute of Biological Resources will host a forum on December 11 in Seoul to support local governments in establishing and implementing biodiversity strategies. In line with the UN Biodiversity Convention, South Korea has included regional biodiversity strategy goals in its ‘Fifth National Biodiversity Strategy’ established in 2024. The forum will share cases from Seoul and Ulsan and explore various measures for ecosystem restoration implementation.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy held a Korean NCP committee meeting and adopted a final statement on the OECD guideline complaint case involving Reckitt Benckiser. Despite three mediation attempts, the Korean NCP could not bridge the gap between the victims and the company, leading to the case’s closure. The final statement criticized Reckitt Benckiser for neglecting product safety verification and causing consumer health damage, and laid out several recommendations.
