[2025-12-11]National Institute of Biological Resources to Hold Biodiversity Forum on December 11

The National Institute of Biological Resources will host a forum on December 11 in Seoul to support local governments in establishing and implementing biodiversity strategies. In line with the UN Biodiversity Convention, South Korea has included regional biodiversity strategy goals in its ‘Fifth National Biodiversity Strategy’ established in 2024. The forum will share cases from Seoul and Ulsan and explore various measures for ecosystem restoration implementation.

The Cultural Heritage Administration has designated Sangju Heungam Seowon in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, as a national cultural heritage site. Built in the late Joseon era, Sangju Heungam Seowon is a prominent Seoin Noron-affiliated academy that enshrines Song Jun-gil. The architectural style of the academy blends elements from Kiho and Yeongnam schools, maintaining its historical, individual, architectural, and academic value to this day.
