The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an inter-agency meeting on January 9, chaired by Lim Gap-soo, the government representative for Korea-US nuclear cooperation, and officially launched the Korea-US Nuclear Cooperation Task Force.
The meeting reviewed key issues and tasks related to enrichment and reprocessing, checked the roles and cooperation systems of each department, and exchanged opinions on the direction and plans for consultations with the US.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold regular meetings to gradually review major issues and promote a government-wide response to create conditions for securing enrichment and reprocessing capabilities for peaceful and commercial purposes.

The government task force arrested 19 individuals involved in illegal gun manufacturing and distribution, seizing 3 guns and 338 imitation firearms.
The task force was established after the Incheon Songdo homemade gun murder case in July last year and has been working to block illegal gun manufacturing and distribution through information sharing and investigations.
They plan to continue investigations on high-risk individuals through information sharing and system improvements, and to amend the enforcement decree of the Firearms and Explosives Control Act.

Jinhee Lee, Director of Customs Clearance, visited the Seoul Customs International Moving Cargo Clearance Center.
The visit aimed to check the progress of the clearance inspection station expansion and listen to field difficulties.
Once the expansion is complete, clearance time will be reduced, and the import of hazardous items like drugs and firearms will be blocked.
