The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the 39th Korea-Japan Tourism Promotion Council with Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The main agenda included expanding tourism exchanges and revitalizing regional tourism between the two countries.
Various cooperation measures in the tourism industry were discussed, especially marking the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic normalization.

President Lee Jae-myung and Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership during their summit.
The two countries will establish a hotline and sign a police cooperation MOU, expanding cooperation in infrastructure, key minerals, and climate change response.
They also pledged close cooperation on regional and international issues, including the Korean Peninsula and ASEAN relations.

The Broadcasting Media Commission will enhance its response to fake information and online illegal activities to create a safe broadcasting and media environment.
It plans to minimize social harm caused by online fake information through legal and institutional improvements, strengthening public-private cooperation, and user education.
Additionally, various measures such as establishing a transparency center, promoting fact-checking, and preventing illegal spam will be implemented to create a safe digital usage environment.

The Ministry of Science and ICT aims to develop an independent AI foundation model that ranks within the top 10 globally by next year.
The ministry also plans to promote various strategic technologies, including AI Co-Scientist and the K-Moonshot project.
This initiative aims to position South Korea as one of the top three AI powerhouses and a leading nation in science and technology.

[2025-12-14]Busan’s Hwamyeong and Haeundae Districts Selected for Urban Renewal

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Busan Metropolitan City announced the selection of 7,318 households in Hwamyeong, Geumgok, and Haeundae districts for urban renewal.
This is the first case of urban renewal in local areas following the selection of 37,000 households in five first-phase new towns last year.
The Ministry plans to establish the Busan Future City Support Center next year and actively support the project approval process.
