Ahead of the 2025 year-end tax settlement, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has launched a dedicated certificate issuance portal on Gov24 (www.gov.kr) from June 12 to 30. This service allows users to easily obtain five essential certificates required for tax settlement. The process is streamlined, enabling access without registration through various authentication methods. The government aims to maximize user convenience during the busy tax season by improving service accessibility.
The five certificates available are: Resident Registration Certificate, National Basic Livelihood Security Recipient Certificate, Certificate of Alien Registration, Disability Certificate, and University Enrollment Certificate. Authentication options include joint/financial certificates, telecom PASS, KakaoTalk, and mobile ID, with six new private apps such as Samsung Wallet added this year. To ensure stable operation, a queue display function has been introduced to manage high traffic. All certificates are issued free of charge.
The Ministry provides detailed usage guides and FAQs via the Gov24 blog and social media channels like Instagram, X, and KakaoStory. Hwang Gyu-cheol, Director of the AI Government Service Bureau, stated, “We have prepared for citizens to conveniently obtain year-end tax certificates through Gov24.” The Ministry also advises users to verify they are using the official Gov24 site, as some private agencies charge fees for similar services.
This expanded service enhances public access to administrative services and minimizes inconvenience during the tax settlement period. The government plans to continuously improve Gov24 to offer more personalized, life-oriented services. Digital administrative innovation is expected to further increase convenience and service quality, boosting trust and utilization of Gov24 among citizens.
