[2026-01-13]Gov24 Launches Easy Issuance Service for 2025 Year-End Tax Documents

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that, in line with the 2025 year-end tax settlement schedule, Gov24 will operate a dedicated portal for certificate issuance from June 12 to 30. This service allows users to easily obtain five essential certificates, including the resident registration certificate, for tax settlement purposes. To enhance user convenience, various authentication methods have been introduced, and membership registration is not required. Tax offices such as Jongno Tax Office in Seoul are also providing related guidance to citizens.

Through the Gov24 year-end tax settlement certificate service, anyone can conveniently issue five types of certificates: resident registration, certificate of basic livelihood security recipients, certificate of foreigner registration, certificate of disability, and certificate of university enrollment. The service is free of charge. Authentication options include joint/financial certificates, PASS by telecom companies, KakaoTalk, and mobile IDs, with six private apps such as Samsung Wallet newly added this year. Hwang Kyucheol, Director of the AI Government Service Bureau, emphasized that the system was prepared to ensure citizens can easily obtain necessary documents.

To address the expected surge in users during the tax settlement period, the Ministry has implemented a dedicated portal and a queue display feature to maintain service stability. Gov24 also provides guidance on usage and frequently asked questions through its official blog and promotes the service via social media channels like Instagram, X, and KakaoStory. The Ministry urges users to verify they are using the official Gov24 website, as some private agencies charge fees for certificate issuance.

This initiative is expected to further simplify year-end tax preparations for citizens and improve access to digital government services. The government plans to continue expanding personalized, life-oriented services. Free certificate issuance and diverse authentication methods are seen as key examples of digital government innovation. Service stability and user convenience are anticipated to improve even more in the future.
