[2026-01-13]Gov24 Launches Easy Certificate Issuance for 2025 Year-End Tax Settlement

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has announced the launch of a dedicated certificate issuance service on Gov24 for the 2025 year-end tax settlement, available from June 12 to June 30. This service allows users to easily obtain five types of certificates: resident registration, basic livelihood security, foreigner registration, disability, and university enrollment. The portal supports various authentication methods, including joint/financial certificates, telecom PASS, KakaoTalk, and mobile IDs, making access easier without requiring membership. Tax offices such as Jongno Tax Office in Seoul are actively providing guidance on year-end tax matters.

To handle the expected surge in users during the tax settlement period, the Ministry has implemented a dedicated portal and a queue display function to minimize inconvenience. This year, the login screen has been revamped, and six private apps, including Samsung Wallet, have been added for mobile ID authentication. The Gov24 certificate issuance service is free of charge, but users should beware of private agencies that may charge fees and always verify the official Gov24 website. For inquiries, contact the Ministry’s AI Government Service Division at 044-205-6458.

The Ministry provides detailed usage guides and FAQs on the Gov24 blog (blog.naver.com/korea_gov) and promotes the service through various social media channels such as Instagram, X, and KakaoStory. Hwang Gyu-cheol, Director of the AI Government Service Bureau, stated, “We have prepared so that citizens required to settle taxes for 2025 can conveniently obtain certificates through Gov24.” The Ministry plans to continue enhancing personalized and essential services for citizens.

This initiative is part of Korea’s digital administrative innovation, enabling citizens to quickly and securely obtain necessary documents for tax settlement. The stable operation of Gov24 and expanded authentication options are expected to significantly improve user experience. As digitalization of document issuance accelerates, the service is likely to expand further during future tax seasons, helping citizens avoid unnecessary fees and access official channels safely.
