[2026-01-12]President Lee Jae-myung Hosts Religious Leaders for National Unity Meeting

President Lee Jae-myung will host a luncheon and meeting with major religious leaders in Korea at 12 PM today at the Blue House to mark the New Year 2026. The event, titled , aims to reaffirm the era’s tasks of national integration and social trust recovery, and to listen to the wisdom and capabilities of the religious community to move beyond division and conflict towards coexistence and integration.

The luncheon will be attended by Buddhist leaders including Jinwoo, Chief Executive of Jogye Order, Deoksu, Chief Executive of Cheontae Order, and Sangjin, Chief Executive of Taego Order. Christian leaders attending include Kim Jung-seok, President of the Korean Church General Assembly, Park Seung-ryul, Secretary General of the Korean Christian Council, and Ko Kyung-hwan, President of the Korean Christian Federation.

Catholic representatives will include Archbishop Jeong Sun-taek of the Seoul Archdiocese and Bishop Lee Yong-hoon, Chairman of the Korean Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Other attendees will include Noh Sang-ho, Chief Executive of Won Buddhism, Choi Jong-su, Director of Sungkyunkwan for Confucianism, Park In-jun, Leader of Cheondoism, and Kim Ryeong-ha, President of the Korean National Religion Association.
