[2026-01-12]President Lee Jae-myung Hosts National Unity Meeting with Religious Leaders

President Lee Jae-myung will host a luncheon and meeting with major religious leaders in Korea at the Blue House at 12 PM today to celebrate the New Year 2026. The event, titled , aims to reaffirm the era’s tasks of national integration and restoring social trust, and to listen to the wisdom and capabilities of the religious community to move beyond division and conflict towards coexistence and integration.

The luncheon will be attended by Buddhist leaders including Jinwoo, the Chief Executive of the Jogye Order, Deoksu, the Chief Executive of the Cheontae Order, and Sangjin, the Chief Executive of the Taego Order. Christian leaders attending include Kim Jung-seok, the President of the Korean Church Federation, Park Seung-ryul, the Secretary General of the National Council of Churches in Korea, and Ko Kyung-hwan, the President of the Korean Christian Federation.

Catholic leaders attending include Archbishop Jeong Soon-taek of the Seoul Archdiocese and Bishop Lee Yong-hoon, the Chairman of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea. Other attendees include Na Sang-ho, the Chief Executive of Won Buddhism, Choi Jong-su, the Director of Sungkyunkwan for Confucianism, Park In-jun, the Leader of Cheondoism, and Kim Ryeong-ha, the President of the Korean Federation of Ethnic Religions.
