[2026-01-12]President Lee Jae-myung Discusses National Unity with Religious Leaders

President Lee Jae-myung hosted a luncheon meeting with major religious leaders at the Blue House to celebrate the New Year 2026. The event, held under the theme , aimed to listen to the wisdom of religious leaders for national unity, bringing together leaders from seven major religious sects.

In his opening remarks, President Lee emphasized the importance of national unity and urged the religious community to play a significant role. Venerable Jinwoo, head of the Jogye Order, expressed gratitude, stating that the luncheon showcased the president’s philosophy of valuing communication with the people. He hoped for continuous cooperation on the common task of ensuring the peace of mind and security of the people.

During the meeting, candid discussions were held on various national and social issues, including the problems of Shincheonji and the Unification Church, diplomatic achievements, low birth rates, regional balanced development, and improving inter-Korean relations. Religious leaders stressed the need to address the serious harm caused by pseudo-religions.

The Blue House announced that it would continue to communicate with the religious community and civil society, expanding the scope of listening, communication, and cooperation for national unity and community recovery.
