The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Minister Yoon Ho-jung) conducted an emergency inspection of the operation status of cold wave preparedness facilities located in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, on January 9. This inspection was carried out to minimize damage caused by the cold wave and to check the operational status and preparedness of the facilities.
The inspection targets included major cold wave preparedness facilities in Siheung, focusing on heating systems, emergency supplies readiness, and protection measures for vulnerable groups. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to immediately address any issues found during the inspection and take swift action on areas requiring additional support.
The inspection was participated by Kim Bu-saeng from the Climate Disaster Management Division, and the results will be disclosed through a subsequent report. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will continue to inspect cold wave preparedness facilities and strive to ensure the safety of the public.
