[2025-12-17]Civil Code Fully Revised After 67 Years

Today (December 16), the amendment to the Civil Act, which serves as the basic law for citizens’ lives and economic activities, passed the Cabinet meeting. This amendment focuses on the regulations of the ‘Contract Law’ as the first task for modernizing the Civil Act.

This amendment marks the first comprehensive revision in 67 years since its enactment, reflecting the changed realities to provide practical help to citizens’ lives and economic activities.

Having passed the Cabinet meeting, the amendment will now be sent to the National Assembly for deliberation, and if passed, it is expected to have a significant impact on citizens’ lives.
