Six officials, including Anyoung-kyung from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, were selected as excellent mentors for the ‘Public Service Adaptation Counseling Activities (Mentoring Program)’ that helped new public officials successfully adapt to their roles. The Ministry of Personnel Management held an award ceremony at the Sejong Competency Evaluation Center on the 15th and selected six outstanding mentors.
This year’s outstanding mentors are Anyoung-kyung from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Jeon Soo-min from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Seo Seung-min from the National Tax Service, Kim Sang-hyo from the Ministry of Personnel Management, Lee Mi-young from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and Ji Sae-han-ul from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The mentors were selected based on their participation in counseling activities and the satisfaction of new public officials.
These mentors supported new public officials by sharing knowledge on departmental and job-specific inquiries, adaptation tips for work and organizational culture, methods to enhance work capabilities, and social life tips. Anyoung-kyung, who won first place, shared various information related to public service life, such as the attitude of a public official, organizational culture, and welfare systems, helping new officials adapt stably and develop their public service perspective.
The six selected mentors received commendations and prizes from the Minister of Personnel Management. After the award ceremony, there was a special lecture to share the mentors’ cases and strengthen relationship and communication skills. The Ministry of Personnel Management plans to continue supporting young public officials to adapt smoothly to the public sector and create a vibrant public service culture.
