President Lee Jae-myung emphasized on the 16th that state affairs should be transparently disclosed to the public to ensure that the government operates in a citizen-centered manner. Speaking at the 54th Cabinet Meeting held at the Government Complex Sejong, he noted the high public interest in the first-ever live broadcast of the work report and stressed the importance of transparency and collective intelligence in policy processes.
President Lee explained that the reason for conducting work reports in front of the public is to substantiate ‘citizen sovereignty.’ He urged all government departments to prepare well for the remaining work reports. He also made it clear that special rewards would be given to public officials who show exceptional dedication and performance.
President Lee instructed that extraordinary rewards should be given to public officials who achieve outstanding results to ensure they can work with pride. He also requested continuous research and review of additional solutions to improve the treatment of public officials.
President Lee mentioned the need for a policy paradigm shift to address polarization. He emphasized the importance of transitioning policies towards fair and sustainable growth to mitigate polarization and requested thorough research on measures to activate the social economy.
