President Lee Jae-myung received briefings from government ministries and affiliated agencies at the Sejong Convention Center from December 11 to 12. This briefing was organized to ensure the swift implementation of policies six months into the Lee administration and was broadcast live to directly show the national governance blueprint to the public.
President Lee emphasized responsible administration as the top priority in national governance, instructing the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport to review measures to compensate victims of rental fraud. He also stated that it is unacceptable to delay administration due to budget or manpower shortages.
President Lee stressed ‘fair governance,’ pointing out issues such as discrimination between regular and irregular workers and the problem of lowest-bid practices. During the briefing from the National Tax Service, he addressed unfair practices in the disposal of seized properties and instructed the agency to improve related systems promptly. He also pointed out the excessively high success rate of government R&D projects and instructed to ensure maximum autonomy while strictly sanctioning those who commit wrongdoings.
President Lee directed active administration from all ministries and related agencies, especially concerning public safety and security. Throughout the briefings, he expressed deep trust and encouragement to public officials and provided opportunities for staff to speak freely. The meeting room was filled with laughter when the Deputy Director of the Aerospace Agency suggested that President Lee personally present an appointment certificate to G-Dragon, the agency’s ambassador.
