[2025-12-16]National Arboretum Holds Closing Ceremony for Government Innovation Avengers ‘Messy’

The Korea National Arboretum held a closing ceremony for the government innovation Avengers ‘Messy’ to conclude their activities for the year 2025. ‘Messy’ is an innovative group aimed at seeking changes in organizational culture and public service practices based on the voluntary participation of the arboretum’s staff.

This year, ‘Messy’ organized various activities such as the ‘Korea National Arboretum Sharing Festival’ on World Book Day, social contribution and resource recycling practices through collaboration with private institutions, support for vulnerable groups and wildfire response sites in the local community, and joint innovation projects among agencies under the Korea Forest Service.

The closing ceremony was held as a ‘breakfast meeting’ where participants shared a simple meal and freely exchanged opinions while reflecting on the year’s activities. Attendees discussed the achievements and limitations of their activities, future improvement directions, and the sustainability and expansion possibilities of government innovation activities.

Director Lim Young-seok of the Korea National Arboretum stated that ‘Messy’ is a symbol of the arboretum’s innovative culture, and he expects that the unstructured communication and reflection seen in the closing ceremony will lead to better innovations next year. The arboretum plans to continue creating changes that the public can feel and to expand field-centered innovation and collaboration.
