The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to foster ‘K-Culture’ as a future core growth industry under the vision of ‘K-Culture, enjoyed by all citizens and embraced by the world.’ The ministry reported its major work plans for next year at the Government Sejong Convention Center on the 16th.

The ministry will develop tailored strategies for the cultural creation industries such as film, games, and popular music, and implement various policies to expand the sales and export scale of the content industry. It will also strengthen the protection of artists’ rights and welfare support, and provide various support measures to promote the consumption of cultural content in local areas.

The ministry will support the supply of K-pop concert halls and the improvement of performance facilities in multi-purpose sports facilities, and plans to build a 50,000-seat dome stadium in the long term. Additionally, it will establish comprehensive plans for K-pop to leap into mainstream global culture and support the overseas expansion of creative musicals. In the field of traditional culture, it will develop collaborative products utilizing traditional values such as Hanbok, Hangeul, and Hanji.

To achieve the early goal of 30 million ‘K-Tourism’ visitors, the ministry will create regional tourism hubs and systematically improve the convenience of foreign visitors. It will also continue to promote the eradication of sports violence and the reform of sports associations, and expand the infrastructure for physical fitness measurement and exercise prescriptions for the public.
