The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that it held the 2025 Agricultural Product Distribution Innovation Expo on December 15 at the aT Center in Yangjae, Seoul. About 150 people attended the event, including the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, Nonghyup Economic Holdings, agricultural organizations, and the distribution industry, participating in the awards ceremony for the 2025 Agricultural Product Distribution Innovation Companies, case presentations, and producer-buyer exchanges.

Minister Song Mi-ryeong emphasized in her congratulatory speech that visible achievements have been made since the announcement of the agricultural product distribution structure improvement measures. The online wholesale market for agricultural and marine products surpassed 1 trillion won in annual transaction amount last November, becoming a key distribution channel. Legislative discussions are also actively underway to establish an institutional foundation, with the relevant law passing the National Assembly’s standing committee subcommittee on December 4.

The Ministry is also accelerating the development of the ‘Agricultural Product Thrifty Consumption Information Platform (app)’ that allows consumers to compare the prices of agricultural products around them at a glance. This project was selected as one of the ‘Top 10 AI Projects for Public Welfare’ last November, securing cooperation from related ministries and a basis for rapid implementation, with a pilot launch planned for the second half of next year.

This year’s Grand Prize for Agricultural Product Distribution Innovation Companies was awarded to Mr. Daddy Co., Ltd. The Excellence Award went to Hanbando Nonghyup in Yeongwol, Gangwon, the Merit Award to Jeonnam Southwest Vegetable Nonghyup, and the Encouragement Awards to Dalkom Tree Co., Ltd. and Daekwang Fruits Co., Ltd. The producer-buyer exchange meeting, held for the first time this year, was also successfully concluded. Minister Song Mi-ryeong expressed her hope for tangible results next year as well.
