The Ministry of National Defense has appointed Jeong Bit-na as the new spokesperson effective December 15, 2025. Jeong Bit-na joined Yonhap News Agency in 2011 and has worked as a reporter, including as a correspondent in Brussels.
Notably, from 2020 to 2022, she covered defense policies and various military branches as a defense ministry correspondent, gaining deep understanding and insight into the defense and security sectors.
The new spokesperson will serve as a bridge between the Ministry of National Defense, the media, and the public, effectively conveying defense policies in a way that resonates with the public. It is expected that her youthful journalistic sensibilities will help restore trust in the military through active communication with the public.
