[2025-12-15]Expansion and Improvement of Health Lifestyle Support Pilot Project

The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Health Insurance Service announced improvements to the Health Lifestyle Practice Support Fund pilot project to enhance the health management of people with hypertension, diabetes, and health risk factors. This project provides financial incentives for practicing healthy lifestyles, such as walking and education, for those with hypertension, diabetes, and general health check-up participants in the health risk group.

From December 15, patients participating in the primary care chronic disease management project can automatically deduct their medical expenses within the range of their points when paying at participating clinics, improving convenience. Previously, a health practice card had to be issued, but now a system has been established to pay with points without the card.

For the preventive type, the pilot project area has been expanded from 15 to 50 regions. It is possible to apply online through individual notification messages sent by the National Health Insurance Service. This improvement is expected to enable more people to practice healthy lifestyles.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Health Insurance Service expect that these system improvements will help people with hypertension, diabetes, and health risk factors to change their lifestyle habits to be healthier through self-management such as walking.
