The Rural Development Administration (RDA), led by Director Lee Seung-don, announced on December 11 that it received the Prime Minister’s Commendation in the administrative management capacity category of the 2024 Government Work Evaluation at the ‘2025 Government Organization Development Merit Award Ceremony’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. With this award, the RDA has been honored as an excellent institution for five consecutive years from 2020 to 2024, among 47 central administrative agencies.
The administrative management capacity evaluation is one of the self-evaluation sections of government work for central administrative agencies. It is conducted by self-diagnosing the performance of each agency according to three evaluation indicators—organization, personnel, and informatization—jointly prepared by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Personnel Management, and then meticulously reviewed by external experts and the relevant ministries.
In this evaluation, the RDA received uniformly high scores across all four inspection indicators: the thoroughness of self-evaluation operation, the appropriateness of evaluation content, the excellence of best practices, and the appropriateness of feedback on evaluation results. Particularly, the systematic inspection of each evaluation indicator and the direct participation of the agency head in strengthening administrative capacity at the organizational level led to high evaluations.
Director Lee Seung-don stated, ‘The result of being selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years is an achievement made possible by the efforts of the staff who have practiced efficient agency operation and continuous organizational innovation.’ He added, ‘We will continue to promote administrative innovation that enhances the quality of life for the public based on a flexible and efficient organizational culture.’
