The Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) held a ‘Scam Center Response Workshop’ in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from December 10 to 12, 2025. Approximately 60 representatives from South Korea, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines, and Thailand attended the workshop.
During the workshop, the South Korean delegation discussed cooperation measures to combat scam crimes such as voice phishing with representatives from China and five Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia and Laos. The main goal of the workshop was to strengthen each country’s ability to respond to scam crimes and establish an international cooperation framework.
Participants shared the latest trends and response strategies for scam crimes and analyzed cases from each country. They also exchanged various opinions to seek effective response measures.
Through the workshop, the countries developed joint response plans for scam crimes and established specific plans for future cooperation enhancement.
