The Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard (Commissioner Kim Yong-jin) announced that the Korea Coast Guard Band visited the Seonhak Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Incheon on the morning of the 12th to hold a participatory sharing performance for the elderly and users as part of the ‘Safe and Green Our Sea (U-An-Pu) Campaign’ to mark the year-end and New Year.
This performance was organized to easily convey government policy tasks such as strengthening maritime safety and preventing marine pollution. It included maritime safety and environmental protection quizzes between the music programs, which were well received by the elderly.
Familiar songs, carols, and popular music were performed during the event, creating a warm atmosphere as the audience clapped and sang along. The Korea Coast Guard naturally conveyed messages about winter maritime accident prevention, coastal safety rules, and marine litter reduction practices through quizzes, gaining participants’ empathy.
A Korea Coast Guard official stated, ‘We prepared this with the hope of providing some comfort to the local community during the year-end. We will continue to expand cultural programs that can easily convey messages of maritime safety and environmental protection to the public through the ‘U-An-Pu Campaign’.
