[2025-12-13]Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Hosts Youth Independence Event

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (Chairman Yoo Cheol-hwan) held a performance sharing event for the ‘2025 Self-Reliance Youth Self-Reliance Family’ activities at Four Points by Sheraton in Yongsan-gu, Seoul at 11 a.m. today. The event was a place to look back on the one-year journey of growth together with the self-reliance family and promise continuous communication and companionship.

In May, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission appointed 27 experts in five fields – housing, employment, finance, law, and medical care – as mentors for self-reliance youth to strengthen their capabilities and emotional stability. The mentors continuously communicated with the youth, sharing concerns on various topics such as career exploration, job preparation, health, and financial management.

This year, broadcaster Seo Kyung-seok participated as an honorary mentor for self-reliance youth, passionately helping their growth. Seo Kyung-seok conducted three special lectures on the Korean History Proficiency Test for self-reliance youth preparing for entrance exams and employment, and held ‘Book Meetings’ to communicate sincerely with the youth, offering warm encouragement and advice.

Today’s event included the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to honorary mentor Seo Kyung-seok, awards for outstanding mentors and self-reliance youth, viewing of self-reliance family activity videos, and a congratulatory performance by the male choir of Dream Tree Village. The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission plans to further strengthen the bonds among self-reliance families and continue providing necessary support to self-reliance youth.
