[2025-12-11]Jin Young-joo Inspects Home-Based Medical Benefits in Jeonju

Jin Young-ju, Director General of Social Welfare Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, visited Wansan-gu Office (Jeonju City, Jeonbuk) and beneficiary households on December 11 (Thursday) at 1:30 PM to inspect the progress of the home medical benefits project and listen to field opinions.

Home medical benefits is a project that provides integrated services such as healthcare, caregiving, meals, and mobility support to help long-term hospitalized medical benefit recipients settle smoothly into the community after being discharged. It started as a pilot project in 2019 and has been implemented nationwide since its conversion to the full project in July 2024, with a total of 5,900 recipients having received services upon discharge, 82% of whom have expressed satisfaction with the services.

Jeonju City in Jeonbuk has been a leading region participating in the home medical benefits project since 2019, and acts as a supervisor providing practical advice to newly participating regions after 2024.

On this day, Jin Young-ju met with officials and medical benefit managers in Wansan-gu, Jeonju City to discuss experiences and challenges in project operations, and also visited beneficiary households to listen to overall opinions about project participation and examine necessary improvements from the users’ perspective.
