요약 본문

The Korea National Arboretum of the Korea Forest Service was awarded the administration sector prize at the 3rd Korea ESG Awards. Recognized for its systematic operation of the B.E.S.T (Biodiversity, ESG & Sustainability, Training) program, the arboretum has been promoting biodiversity research results and the spread of ESG values through education.

The B.E.S.T program integrates key concepts of biodiversity, ESG, sustainability, and education to deliver the importance of natural capital and climate crisis response to the public. It aims to elevate societal awareness of national tasks such as ecosystem conservation and carbon neutrality by targeting corporations, students, and citizens.

‘Seed of Awareness’, ‘Forest of Restoration’, ‘Garden of Participation’, ‘Path of Dissemination’, and ‘Culture of Empathy’ are initiatives that enable corporate ESG activities to be naturally expanded to biodiversity conservation. Notable programs such as ‘Eco-teering’ and ‘BioBlitz Korea’ have contributed significantly to raising awareness of biodiversity.

The arboretum director expressed hope that this award will strengthen the national ESG implementation framework and pledged to continue contributing to the sustainable development of nature and society.
