요약 본문

Incheon International Airport will pilot a self-driving robot service that transports suitcases from the parking lot to the departure area. Developed to enhance convenience for pregnant women, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, this service is expanded through a business agreement between Incheon International Airport Corporation, Incheon Metropolitan City, Incheon Metropolitan City Jung-gu Office, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This business agreement aims to expand address-based intelligent mobility information projects and operates self-driving robots at Incheon International Airport. Through this, it provides the parking navigation ‘Incheon Airport Parking Navi’ app service, offering real-time guidance on available parking spots and continuous walking routes to destinations.

The suitcase delivery robot can carry up to three suitcases and is available at the Transportation Center and entrances of Terminal 1. Additionally, patrol robots are operated at the bus waiting areas of the arrival and departure halls in Terminal 1, contributing to a pleasant airport environment through autonomous patrol and voice output.

Every year, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety selects leading local governments to pilot projects that develop service models combining drones, robots, and address information. These pilot projects aim to establish nationwide services, planning annual implementation plans that are expected to enhance infrastructure that efficiently moves and connects the public and industries.
