[2026-01-13]Gov24 Launches Easy Certificate Issuance for 2025 Year-End Tax Settlement

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has announced the launch of a dedicated portal on Government24 (www.gov.kr) for the 2025 year-end tax settlement, available from June 12 to 30. This service allows users to easily obtain five key documents: resident registration certificate, certificate of basic livelihood security recipient, certificate of alien registration, certificate of disability, and university enrollment certificate. The portal is designed for convenience, enabling access without membership registration and supporting various authentication methods. This initiative aims to help citizens quickly prepare the necessary documents for their year-end tax filings.

The service supports multiple authentication options, including joint/financial certificates, telecom PASS, KakaoTalk, and mobile ID, with six private apps such as Samsung Wallet newly added for enhanced convenience. To ensure stable operation during peak usage, the Ministry has implemented a queue display feature to minimize user inconvenience. All document issuances through Government24 are free of charge, but users are advised to beware of private agencies that may charge fees. For inquiries, contact the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s AI Government Services Division at 044-205-6458.

Hwang Gyu-cheol, Director of the AI Government Services Bureau, stated, “We have prepared this service so that citizens required to file the 2025 year-end tax can conveniently obtain necessary documents through Government24.” The Ministry provides detailed usage guides and FAQs via the Government24 blog (blog.naver.com/korea_gov) and promotes the service through social media channels such as Instagram, X, and KakaoStory. Local tax offices, including Jongno Tax Office in Seoul, are also distributing informational booklets to assist citizens.

The dedicated issuance service on Government24 is seen as a leading example of digital administrative innovation. The Ministry plans to further expand personalized and closely related services for citizens. This initiative is expected to greatly improve convenience and accessibility during the year-end tax season. As document issuance through Government24 becomes standardized, the efficiency and reliability of civil services are anticipated to increase. The future of digital government services looks promising with ongoing advancements.
