The Public Procurement Service (PPS) and EBS have jointly produced a special program titled ‘Opening the World of Innovative Products,’ which will be broadcast on EBS1TV on January 11 at 3:25 PM. This special program explores the global expansion of K-innovative technology following K-pop and K-food, highlighting how public procurement supports the growth and global advancement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative technologies.
The program features rapper and broadcaster DinDin and popular personality Nam Yu-jung as special MCs. They will explore innovative companies with Han-do Park, a manager from the PPS’s Innovation Procurement Policy Division, explaining the purpose and achievements of the system in a way that is accessible to viewers. The first company introduced has developed ultra-thin illuminated road signs based on original light-emitting sheet technology, revolutionizing the paradigm of road signs worldwide.
This company has been recognized for its technological prowess in traffic safety and is currently pursuing technology exports and joint ventures in several countries in Europe and Asia. The second company visited possesses innovative oil conditioning technology that protects key industrial equipment. This technology, based on the world’s first dual high-vacuum electric filter method, precisely manages industrial lubricants and is used in K-defense, with exports to over 30 countries including North America and Europe.
The program focuses on the journey of these companies from being designated as ‘innovative products’ by the PPS to securing initial sales channels in the public procurement market and using this as a springboard to enter overseas markets. It demonstrates how innovation procurement serves as a catalyst, helping SMEs with outstanding technology to settle in the market, grow continuously, and leap onto the global stage.
