[2025-12-19]Korea Grand Sale 2026 Opens with Record Scale

The 2026 Korea Grand Sale, the largest in history, kicked off on the 17th and will run until February 22 next year. This event aims to promote tourism and spending by foreign visitors during Korea’s off-peak travel season, with participation from various sectors including aviation, accommodation, shopping, dining, and experiential services. Discounts of up to 96% are offered across these sectors, along with diverse K-content-based experience programs.

Organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Visitor Orientation Committee, the Korea Grand Sale has been held annually since 2011 as a representative shopping and tourism festival. This year, over 1,750 companies are participating, including 10 domestic airlines offering up to 96% discounts on flights to Korea, as well as hotels, department stores, duty-free shops, and more.

The opening ceremony was held at the Community House Masil in Myeongdong, Seoul, attended by about 80 people including key corporate representatives and foreign tourists. Performances included a K-pop concert by ‘K-Tigers’ and a themed video titled ‘Thrilling Voyage toward the Sea of Hallyu.’ Foreign tourists can also enjoy instant discounts and refunds through UnionPay and WowPass mobile payment apps.

To enhance experiential shopping and regional tourism, additional programs such as the ‘K-Train’ tour package, ‘Welcome Center,’ ‘Play Truck,’ and ‘Play Lounge’ are being operated.
