The largest-ever ‘Korea Grand Sale 2026’ opened on the 17th. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Visit Korea Committee, announced that the event will be held from today until February 22 next year. The ‘Korea Grand Sale’ is a representative shopping tourism festival in Korea, held since 2011 to promote foreign tourism and consumption during the off-season, based on private sector participation in various fields such as aviation, accommodation, shopping, dining, experiences, and convenience services.
This event features participation from over 1,750 companies in various fields such as aviation, accommodation, shopping, dining, transportation, beauty, and convenience services, offering even more abundant benefits. The promotion for flights to Korea includes up to 96% discounts on routes to Korea by 10 domestic airlines, including Korean Air. The hotel industry is presenting experience-combined accommodation products, and various benefits such as hotel room discounts and experience product discount coupons are provided in collaboration with online travel agencies.
To enhance the shopping convenience for foreign tourists, immediate discounts and refund benefits of up to 15% are provided at major stores in connection with foreign payment applications such as UnionPay and WowPass. Additionally, five themed experience programs utilizing ‘K-Content’ are operated, covering food, entertainment, beauty and fashion, wellness, and culture and arts. In collaboration with Incheon International Airport Corporation, a tourism program including department store shopping and Korean cooking classes is provided for transit foreign tourists at Incheon Airport.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Visit Korea Committee are working with travel agencies to offer region-specific programs and online travel agencies to present regional special exhibitions, allowing more foreign tourists to enjoy unique tourism experiences throughout Korea. The ‘K-Train’ product, departing from Seoul to Jeonju in North Jeolla Province, Taebaek in Gangwon Province, and the East Coast, is designed to enjoy regional tourism through day trips or individual trips, including local festivals, gourmet food, and experiences.
