The Korea Forest Service (Director Kim In-ho) announced on the 16th that it has selected 20 notable sites of Baekdudaegan, which are excellent in ecological, scenic, historical, and cultural value, and published them in a booklet to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the enforcement of the ‘Baekdudaegan Protection Act’.
The 20 notable sites of Baekdudaegan include Daegwallyeong Old Road, Taebaeksan Cheonjedan, Jirisan Cheonwangbong, Chupungnyeong, Sobaeksan Birobong, Jukryeong, Seoraksan Daecheongbong, Hangyeryeong, Misiryeong, Songnisan Cheonwangbong, Jinburyeong, Ihwaryeong, Hambaeksan (Summit), Jingogae, Odaesan Woljeongsa Fir Tree Road, Saejae, Nogodan, Deogyusan Hyangjeokbong, Haneuljae, and Guryongryeong.
The Korea Forest Service conducted a basic survey on the selection of Baekdudaegan notable sites through research on the discovery and utilization of Baekdudaegan’s human resources value in 2024, and finally selected the 20 notable sites through public awareness, evaluation of humanistic value, and surveys.
The booklet contains not only photos of the notable sites but also their origins and tourist information, making it easy for anyone to understand and enjoy the value of Baekdudaegan notable sites. It can be viewed on the Korea Forest Service website (www.forest.go.kr).
