The Military Manpower Administration (Director Hong So-young) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 15th with Baekseok University (President Song Ki-shin), Baekseok Cultural University (President Lee Kyung-jik), and Baekseok Arts University (President Yoon Mi-ran) to link students’ academic and military careers and strengthen support for military career planning.
This agreement was made as both institutions shared opinions on establishing a systematic military career support model so that young people can use their military service as an opportunity for future growth rather than a break in their social careers.
Specifically, the Military Manpower Administration will conduct military career counseling and briefings and provide professional consulting on the operation of educational courses within the universities. The universities will provide educational content to foster proper military character and incorporate military career planning into their curricula. Additionally, they agreed to cooperate continuously on policy initiatives necessary to support young people.
Director Hong So-young stated that this agreement is an important starting point for organically connecting academic and military careers to enhance the future capabilities of young people. The Military Manpower Administration will meticulously build a career support system so that young people can grow through military service and naturally connect that experience to their academic and life paths.
