[2025-12-16]Ministry of Employment and Labor Holds Meeting to Review 2026 Plan

The Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Kim Young-hoon) held a nationwide meeting of agency heads on December 15 as a follow-up to the 2026 Ministry of Employment and Labor work report conducted on December 11. This meeting was organized to ensure that the contents of the 2026 work report, reported to the President and the public, are promptly implemented on-site, with about 80 attendees including heads of local employment and labor offices nationwide.

Minister Kim Young-hoon emphasized in his opening remarks that ‘2026 should be a year where the public feels the change,’ urging local offices to take extraordinary measures to resolve issues such as industrial accidents, wage arrears, and the 2030 youth rest problem, ensuring that people do not die or fail to receive their wages when they go to work.

Additionally, from December 15, he instructed that employers and workers be guided to comply with the three basic safety rules. This measure is in response to frequent accidents where workers die from falling while not wearing protective gear such as helmets and safety belts, and from overturning forklifts while not wearing seat belts.

The headquarters shared the ‘2026 Ministry of Employment and Labor Work Promotion Plan’ and checked the on-site execution system of local offices. The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to continuously manage the implementation status of each task through quarterly agency head meetings and occasional inspection meetings.
